Organic cactus mix

Description

Cactus potting mix is a fast-draining blend of mostly inorganic materials like sand, pumice, and perlite, with a smaller amount of organic components such as pine bark or compost. This composition prevents waterlogging and root rot by creating an airy, gritty, and well-draining medium that mimics the natural desert habitats of cacti and succulents. A common DIY recipe includes 3 parts potting soil, 3 parts coarse sand, and 1 part perlite or pumice.
